Research, Research, Research!

Hi everyone =)

I thought I could share something with you that I'm going these days and I think for everyone who loves buying makeup it's going to be essential =)

I'm very very excited that in March I'm going to be visiting London with my best friend. We're going just for a relaxing weekend but I'm finally going to have an opportunity to buy some makeup that I can't get where I live. I know you can order almost everything online these days but paying for shipping when you want to buy only one, two things at that time is kinda silly, especially if the brand is from the US. I hate that we don't have here some of the brands that I'm dying to try out.. Soooo, I've been doing some research! =)

Even though I am going to see in person all the products I'd buy in London, I still want to do my research beforehand. I don't want to be wasting time in one shop while I could grab something I'm sure of and take a walk by the Thames instead =)
This is also something you want to do if you are ordering online. The colors that you see on a website don't have to be the same in real life. They can be low quality, some eyeshadows may not be too pigmented, how do you know if the shade is shimmering or matte if they don't say it on the website?

DO YOUR RESEARCH! =)

These days, it's very easy to find great reviews of products, swatches, and aaall that good stuff. Google is your best friend =) Look for reviews with swatches. If it's a lipstick, look for pictures with the lipstick actually on the lips because the color may be deceiving on the back of someone else's hand. Use youtube. A lot of girls on youtube with HD cameras do reviews with swatches and so you can see the product almost like in real life. If you're looking for a specific eyeshadow, you can also look up tutorials on youtube and so you can see how they look like combined with other colors. Look for bloggers/youtubers whose complexion is close to yours so you can see the results even better, especially if you're considering buying face products (mostly blush/bronzers).

If you're madly in love with makeup (like me), this is going to be a lot of fun for you (like it is for me :D). And it's going to help you a lot. You're not going to waste your money on something you just thought was going to be good. I always read more than one review and I usually also look up various youtube reviews as well so I can see what people say about the product and you always want more than just one opinion.

So, I just wanted to share this with you so you're not disappointed with your online purchases (but you can definitely do this also if you're not going to buy stuff online). Also if you have a specific budget, this is also  going to help you "plan" your purchases. I know it sounds kinda silly but if you spend most of your budget on two things, you're not going to have a lot of money left for other stuff even if it's cheaper.

So if you want to get the most out of your money and if you're like me - going somewhere to purchase products you cannot get where you live, and so you want to get as many as possible with a limited budget - do your research =) It really is a LOT of fun. =)

My next video is hopefully going to be My 2012 favs, which I hope I'll be able to film on 10th. I have a major exam on 10th so after I get home I hope nothing's going to get in my way.
Also, I'm not sure about how often I'll be able to post videos in January and the beginning of February because that's the time for my exams but... I'll try to do my best because I really enjoy filming them =)
That's all for today, have a lovely night =)
Lena
